I Miss Japan
Well, it has been about a little over a month since we returned from Japan and I realize that I could live without free refills. I want to go back immediately. Forever. I think Shane agrees. I miss it. This place is boring.

Party Time Kyoto
So, Tokyo was awesome, and most likely will remain awesome by the time we get there again tomorrow. However, I think few things we have have experianced can compare to the time we spent in Kyoto.
Anyways, we boarded the Shinkansen (bullet train) to head to Kyoto. It was about 2 hours and 45 minutes long, which is just a pimple compared to the huge tumor of the 14 hour flight to Tokyo.

When we arrived in Kyoto it was pretty crazy. I will be the herald that cries, Tokyo has a great public transportation system, Kyoto's is for lack of a better term, a cluster fuck of varying vehicles which appear magically from time to time to take you to corners of Kyoto not even natives knew existed. However we spent the first day walking around and then shopping. After shopping we promtly fell asleep at 4:00 pm and stayed dormant until 7:00 am the next day.
Anywas, today was amazing. We got up and went to Kyoto Station in order to wait for my penpal, Megumi.

Anyways, we met Megumi and she is a wonderful girl, really that is probably the best way to describe her. She is just a great person plain and simple. I can't say to many nice things about her, shes awesome. She had a full day planned for us around Kyoto seeing all the sights and she was a great guide and companion. We saw so many temples and gardens. I even got to walk between two stones with my eyes closed in order to better my love life. All the temples were amazing most of the well over 500 years old, so much older than anything in America. One temple even had a crazy pitch black maze that we went through. To finish off the night we Megumi took us to a great traditional Japanese restaurant, where Kyle and I, to our surprise ate eel, squid, sea urchin, and various other digusting creatures. Anyways, pictures are worth a bajillion words.

Ok, I will upload all of them to a flicker account sometime, just not now. More to come so stay tuned.

Planet Tokyo
The past day and a half has been pretty fucking crazy for Kyle and I. We stayed awake for 30 something hours straight, flew to Japan and are now in a Hostel in Tokyo posting this. I don't even think the fact that we are in Japan has sunk in yet.
Anyways, we got into the country and had to go through customs, I was pretty nervous about it, I could tell they wanted to shoot us. After that we got our rail passes and boarded a train for Tokyo.

Let me tell you this from experience, LEARN THE TOKYO SUBWAY! It has been like our own personal hell navigating the immense catacombs of the Tokyo Subway system. We finally got to our Hostel and I crapped and then we were off to explore Tokyo.

We also tried to win a pig, but it did'nt work out as planned. :(

After a good nights sleep we decided to eat world famous Tokyo food at Denny's. It wasnt like american Denny's so we didnt feel so bad for eating there. After our breakfast we went and explored Asukasa, and saw temples and shopped, we also went to an Arcade, which was fucking crazy.

Anyways, we are going to go out and explore more. I think were going to Shinjuku now. Tomorrow we are going to Kyoto, so we will keep you updated about that.
oh yea, our rooms are fucking tiny.

Less than twenty days away!
Well, Japan draws ever closer. Like.....something that gets closer to you over time, like your eventual death, I guess. We just have to bide our time and save our money, so we can buy Japanese shit.
Anyways, I can't think of anything to type, but does it even matter? No one reads this anyways, right?

MMM... Japan!
While I have been studying Japanese in order to have some grasp of the language when we are on our trip, Shane has been keeping busy studying... other materials. His endeavors on 4chan have taught us many valuable lessons. In fact, just today, we learned the importance of perspective. Now you may ask, what tools were used to teach us such a valuable lesson? Did a wise sage pass this down? Did a series of informational video cassettes give us this wisdom? Well, sort of...

Anyways, I have the Katakana alphabet and the Hiragana alphabet memorized now. Shane is looking up words in the kanji alphabet that we feel are very important such as: Food, Girls. Yeah, thats about all he needed to look up. We discovered that most Japanese people use a mix of these 3 alphabets in writing and Kanji is basically Chinese for all intents and purposes. So hopefully, between Shane's vast two word knowledge of Kanji (food and girls), and my knowledge of the other alphabets, we will be able to understand all the Japanese we need. Now, you may be thinking, if they use Kanji all the time in writing, how will you be able to understand only knowing two words? Well, if the sentence doesnt have one of those two words in it, its not important.
In other news, we both received our japan rail pass vouchers in the mail and they have all this japanese crap all over them. I know, who would have thought. I can almost taste Japan its SO CLOSE! Basically, Shane and I are living solely to go on this trip right now.
Seeuu Youuu LaterDESKA!
